Research Interests

In my schooling, when introduced to economics I realized that it interestingly qualified as a subject of both Arts and Science. It was an area defined by precise rules, principles and axioms and yet there was tremendous scope for self-expression in the form of interpretation and analysis. This facet of economics intrigued me very much and I decided to pursue further studies in Economics.

Throughout my Master's programme, I attempted to arm myself with as many economic analysis tools as possible. I had an in-depth education in econometrics and macroeconomics. After earning my Master's degree, I enrolled at Madras University, eager to learn how economics may be used to address a country's challenges, where simplistic models and assuming away difficulties may provide no relief. I completed some extremely interesting research during my Ph.D., which is detailed on my resume. I desired to go deeper into the issue in order to conduct independent as well as collaborative research and analysis, which led me to enrol in the Ph.D. programme. After beginning my work in academia, I discovered an interest in international business/trade/finance, which I am continually exploring. I am fascinated by the econometric modelling of issues of international economics.
